Calm for Kids was set up by Christiane Kerr in 1999 and has been runnng children’s relaxation, yoga and meditation courses ever since. After several years as a Montessori teacher, Christiane was conscious of the rising level of children’s stress and says:
"As a yoga teacher and mother of two I saw how naturally children took to yoga.
I wanted to make it more accessible and share the gift of yoga with children and adults of all ages."
She started using relaxation exercises and short visualisations during the school day and the results were impressive, even in very young kids. The children became much calmer and more focused.
After repeated requests from parents and teachers, she produced the Calm For Kids relaxation CDs which have since been recommended by Rebecca Abrams in the Daily Telegraph.
