Ruby Red - dedicated to making you look and feel naturally gorgeous...
The Ruby Red story began when Martine Burford left her high-flying career, packed a bag and began a life-changing journey through Asia (parts that tourists never normally experience) with her partner Mike. It was there that they discovered a culture where beauty is more about natural ingredients and traditional techniques than sterile white rooms and chemicals.
Inspired by what she had seen, once back in England, Martine began sourcing the best organic ingredients and with her experience in fragrance and cosmetics, started mixing natural bath and body care formulations for friends and family. She soon started selling her natural products at Portobello Market in London and there Ruby Red was born!
Known for their gorgeous aromas, Ruby Red blend together pure certified, organic essential oils along traditional perfumery techniques to make their unforgettable natural fragrances. They use fairly traded ingredients contained in cute eco packaging for their everyday beauty products.

Why do Ruby Red Use Organic Ingredients? The certified, organic ingredients Ruby Red use come from plants grown without the use of artificial pesticides and herbicides, in soil free from artificial fertilizers and genetic modification. Both the planet and farmers benefit from organic farming; it also plays a role in reducing air pollution by avoiding adding chemicals into the air we breathe. Ruby Red avoids the use of chemicals in the growing, processing or making of any of the Ruby Red products of gorgeousness. All otheir organic ingredients are certified by the Soil Association.
Is Ruby Red fairly traded? Ruby Red buy, where possible, fairly traded ingredients. The Organic Shea Butter comes from a women’s co-operative in Ghana, who make sure they pay a fair price for their produce. They deserve it with all their hard work; collecting the fallen nuts from the Shea tree, roasting and kneading them all by hand to make Ruby Red's yummy shea butter!
How is Ruby Red looking after our planet? You won’t find any plastic packaging here; just lovely, eco-friendly, recyclable pots, all wrapped up in biodegradable fluted paper with a tell tale swing and with great organic sustainable beauty ingredients, made in England.
Is Ruby Red vegetarian? Yes, all Ruby Red products are suitable for vegetarians and nearly all of them are suitable for vegans apart from those which contain honey and beeswax. They don’t use any animal ingredients or by-products and do not test on animals.
Remember that Ruby Red products do not contain artificial preservatives, stabilisers or emulsifiers and like all natural products, they can get hot and bothered if they get too warm, hard and shivery if they get too cold. Please treat with care and store away from direct sunlight in a cool place to keep them fresher for longer. Always replacing the lid will keep the natural aroma longer.
