Trilogy commissioned an independent clinical study to test the effect of the topical application of Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil on scars.
The study was conducted at an independent laboratory in Australia during 2009, in accordance with ICH Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice.
Conclusions of Study
Self assessment All 10 test subjects reported an improvement in the overall appearance of the scar after 12 weeks of use. All subjects reported a reduction in the appearance of their scars and improvements in the softness and evenness of the scars.
Expert Clinician Assessment Apparent area, erythema (colour) and appearance of the scar were all observed to significantly and consistently improve over the duration of the study.
* 41% improvement in colour of scars * 27% improvement in appearance of scars * 26% improvement in visible area of scars
Methodology * 10 subjects between the ages of 20 and 60. * Subjects showed evidence of scarring on the face, leg, arms or torso of mild to severe intensity. Scars ranged from newly healed scars to older existing scars. * Assessments of the test sites were completed pre-application and following application of Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil at 4, 8 and 12 weeks. * A photographic record was kept of the scar area appearance at each time point. * For one test subject, two areas were chosen and separately monitored to allow for intra-subject comparison. * Application was twice daily. * Concurrent use of other skincare products was not permitted in the skin area under study. * No adverse responses were observed during the study.
Individual results may vary.
